Check out the nice wood work on the QB 78

I just finished my qb78 . I reshaped the stock, stained it with a red oak stain, put a couple coats of clear coat on it (more to come), put on a different butt pad, bipod, nicer illuminated scope, polished the two endcaps at the rear of the ag, polished the trigger, reworked the trigger sear engagement area giving me a butter smooth trigger.
Click here for directions on smoothing trigger.
Mods to come, new valve (someone ruined mine ), ext tube, bulking, laser, custom muzzle brake

LarryR's 2240

Larry sure is a craftsman, look at those grips

Just about got this finished (for now...LOL) Added a stippled walnut matching forearm to go with the 10m grips.
Also added a Williams notch sight. The valve is stock. For the distance I shoot this pistol, it made no sense to me to mod the valve.

I was after shot consistency, accuracy and could not get it. It is 7.5" 22 cal. barrel and about 20 shots around 458 fps and dropping off to 415 around the 25th shot.

Reworked the trigger to 1.25 lbs. Works smooth, but not a great trigger :>). Under 1 lb and it fired without touching the trigger when bumped.

Later I changed out to a 10.5", .177 barrel with a Steve's HDD. Now getting around 55 good shots with a top range of 575 fps to 408 fps by shot 55.

Two things I really like about the HDD, the gun shoots quieter and the number of shots i'm now getting. IMO, the HDD is a device really worth the money!

Anyway, here are a few photos of the project (may end up modding the valve also...hehehe)

leonardj's Crosman Mark I carbine

This is a nice looking custom Mark I

This is the latest addition to my custom Mark I collection.

The tensioned barrel is 18.5" long, the overall length is 34", the LOP is 12". The cheekpiece is fully adjustable, using an eccentric action to allow for almost 1 1/8" total left-right, and up - down adjustment. The Morgan adjustable butt-pad allows for up-down adjustment to position the butt. The wire stock is .375" dia. aluminum rod, which is solidly fastened to spot faces in the rear of the Mk I frame. The scope is a Hawke Airmax 4-12 x 44 AO, mounted on extra high (see-through) Weaver mounts. The Harris bipod is attached to a Harris #4 barrel mount, which is mounted right at the most heavily supported point of the barrel to the frame. The folded bipod acts as a forearm when folded, for offhand shooting. The valve has been mildly worked over, and initial testing with 12 gram powerlets has proven encouraging. I still have to do some testing using the 4 oz. hangy tank, and some tests to see how it groups at various ranges.

Jim's DAQ 9mm 22XX

Oh man...sweet gun

For several years I have been tinkering with 2240 tune ups and modifications. A couple years back Walter Glover and I corresponded and spoke about converting my DAQ 9mm 2240 to pcp, and I arranged to ship the upper to him for the project. Weeks passed, he never received the parts, and on tracking I found they had been held by Canadian Customs. After several weeks and many calls/letters I finally recovered my parts. I sold or traded that gun off, and arranged to have Walter ship me a lower for a .25 project I was working on, but he got busy and time ticked away. Then one day the lower arrived, but I realized to my deep chagrin that I’d traded off the .25 upper in the meanwhile! I was speaking to Dennis Quackenbush one day about another project he was working on, and he mentioned he had a couple 9mm uppers available, so I quickly ordered one. Due to work obligations I was stuck out of country when the Little Rock Show came up, and Randy Mitchell kindly agreed to pick the part up and deliver it to me when we next got together. Yesterday my family and I drove down to meet Randy for lunch at the Bass Pro Shop on the IN/KY border; and for the first time I had the upper, lower, and base platform with custom laminate grips together at the same time and the same place! Put the gun together, filled it up, holding air and everything looks great …….. and couldn’t find the bloody 9mm pellets buried somewhere in my pile of gear, arghhhhhh #@$!!!!!

At any rate here’s a pic of the gun, I will get pellets this week and hit the range with my chrony next week for some testing and tweaking.

Rich's Bullpup design

Brent's 2240 "Proto-Sniper"

Love the grips and brass on this one.

Just finished this one. After haveing a Custom 2240 done by Roy I had to do one myself just to say I did it. here is the end result. I must say it was very fun to build & very easy to boot.. If anyone out there doesn`t think they should or can, You have to try it!! Outside Parts on this gun consists of Brass end caps & Fiber Optic front sight from Roy, RJ Machine regular Right with cutout Breech, RB Gold Miner Grips which I got lucky & got 2 sets of the Target variants. anyone interested he did say he had a few Sportsman sets left only 25 sets of each were done. A set of Kwik-Site mounts & a Tasco Pro-Point makes for one AWESOME tack driver.

Brent's First Custom

Roy built this one for Brent.  Brent liked it so much that he built the "Proto-Sniper" above

Recieved this Saturday afternoon around 4:30pm.  I scoped it & placed it`s new skins on it & by 5:00pm I was putting .22`s in a penny sized circle at 30 yards a HUGE THANKS goes out the Roy Weid for building such a AWESOME piece of art, Ralph @ RB Grips for his beautiful Gold Miner Grips, & Robert @ RJ Machine for his wondeful High Rise Breech...Im seriously HOOKED & Im already starting on one myself as parts come in I`ll be doing the work in my spare time Im shooting for open sights on this one I think who knows ??...I still have a Brass Co2 end cap for this one in route which will only make it look MO-BETTER.

Leo's matching 1740 and 1377

My idea in building these 2 pistols was to have 2 basically identical pistols based off of Crosman's 2 basic platforms.  I think I achieved the look and idea I was going for.  Both were tuned by me to be what I think a target pistol should be.

1740

Maximum accuracy and number of shots was the purpose here.  When all was said I done I was getting around 60-70 shots on a cart at 450 fps.  In order to do this I left the valve stock, added a deboinger from Roy at MA and a Power Adjuster with a full length spring guide from Art.  The power adjuster with spring guide was a very important piece of the puzzle because it allowed me to dial in exaclt how much gas was being used so that there was very little waste.  It also made the gun quieter.  The trigger had a guide from Airgunsmith and had been polished on all surfaces.

The breech is from RJ Machine, grips from Steve Corcoran, and muzzle brake from Rich in Mich. which I added the front sight to.  All of this made for one smooth and accurate shooter.

1377

My goal for this was to achieve somewhere around 450 fps on 3 pumps.  I got 415 fps on 3 and left it at that.  It was meant to be a target pistol so the least amount of pumps was a necessity.  I added a flat top piston from Roy at MA as well as a hammer spring guide from him.  I switched out the 13xx hammer spring in favor of a 22xx spring because I did not need to dump a high number of pumps and the 22xx spring jarred the pistol less when fired.  I polished all parts of the triggering system and lightened the spring to make for a smooth pull.

The breech is a left hand long with sight cutout from RJ Machine, the grips are from Steve Corcoran and have an ebony end cap.  The muzzle brake is from Larry.  I added the front sight to it.

Leo's long range rifle...

Another nice gun built by Leo

I have had this gun put together for some time but just recently put a bipod on it. My goal for this gun was a lot of power and maximum accuracy. I think I have achieved it. It does 810-820 fps with CO2 on a warm day and 875 fps with 850-900 psi of HPA and will do a lot more once I can get a modded regulator.

The accuracy is out of this world on this gun. Here is a target that I shot this morning. I have not yet shot groups at farther than 55 yards but can consistently hit 1.5" metal squares at 75 yards. The groups were shot in the prone position.

The parts and mods to those parts, for those that are interested, include:

24" .22 Crosman Barrel that I gave a deep dish target crown to
RJ Steel Breech in .22
RJ Extended Bolt, I narrowed the probe to just under 1/16"
A deboinger from Roy at Mtn. Air to try to save some gas
A 13xx hammer spring
A delrin hammer spring guide from Roy at Mtn. Air
Gil Irvin Wire Frame stock that I drilled and tapped a power adjuster into,
-The power adjuster was used to find that point in the adjustment range where the gun has
its most power and most efficiency.
Maxz Bulk End cap to use with bulk gas
B&A Economy valve that I bored out to the max
All transfer ports were enlarged to 3/16"
The transfer port in the valve was angled and bored to 3/16"
A vented brass muzzle brake from Roy at Mtn.
-This was used to help cure the muzzle flip that this gun developes.
Smart Parts drop forward and 1200 psi gauge
The CO2 tank used is a 24 oz
Leapers UTG 3-9x40 Scope
RB Walnut Target Grips and 2250 forearm
Much lighter valve spring
Delrin Valve Stem from Roy
2 more valve retention screws were installed

This is my most shot gun and will remain that way. It is so much fun to shoot, very accurate and powerful. I took a 25 lb raccoon with 2 shots last week. The second shot was to make sure it was down, one would have done the job.

Nugor's My three sons
Nice looking family photo

Here is a trio of projects I just finished.  The top one is a 2400 from the Crosman Custom shop in a Steve Cochran stock.   It's had several internal mods and shoots between 580-600 fps on a 12g Co2 cartridge with a ported custom shop valve.  The Middle one is a 2250 with a Crooked Barn Max Flow Bulk valve and trigger work.  It's shooting over 700 fps.  The bottom one is probably my favorite for some reason.  It's a 2240 with a Crooked Barn 12g Boss valve and lots of porting work.  I'm using one of MaxZ's bulk adapters and an RJMachine Hi-Rise breech.  It shoot's in the 650 fps range.  All have LDC's from Rich in Mich and heavier hammer springs by me.  I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I can't remember what it is right now.

Rich's  Big brother and Little Brother

Nice little family started!

I have been hard at work again with my toys- little brother needed guidance so Big Brother was called in for training----B&A bulk valve totally modified-ported 14" long barrel -RJ long breech- delrin breech riser and forearm and ventilated 1"OD carbon fiber with brass ends shroud all by LarryR-extended bolt and brass o-ringed handle and trigger work by Roy-BSA 6x24 platinum scope- this rifle hits very hard and very accurate it weighs 4.8lbs with scope-I think they look good together!-Rich
